Are the people of GSOPC friendly?
GSOPC is a warm, kind, and patient church with a mix of personalities. Whether quiet or outgoing, our members welcome families from all backgrounds and seek to reflect the care of the Good Shepherd for each person.
Where do you meet?
Our worship services are held every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. at the Greenville Seventh Day Adventist, located at 4658 Reedy Branch Road, Winterville, NC.
Where do I take my kids?
We encourage parents to worship with their children in the service. If children become restless, parents can stand to the sides if they wish. Nursery is provided for children ages three and younger.
How do I dress?
Our church tends to dress smart casual or business casual.
Will I be pressured or embarrassed?
We ask visitors to listen thoughtfully to the service and be patient if children or those with special needs become restless. Questions are welcome after the service. However, there is no pressure to wear a suit or contribute to the collection. Also, unbelievers are not expected to pray and sing. Expect friendly conversation and possible invitations to share a meal after the service. Accept if you wish, or politely decline if you need to leave.
Will the preaching be biblical and clear?
Yes. Our preaching is biblical and clear, explaining each text carefully and showing how it reveals the truth, grace, and glory of the Good Shepherd who redeems and gathers His flock.
What makes our congregation distinct in a Christ-honoring way?
We joyfully emphasize Christ’s leadership as the Good Shepherd—welcoming all to follow Him in truth, walk in His grace, and live for His glory by loving God, family, and neighbor above ourselves. We gather for both morning and evening worship, singing hymns and psalms at every service in a traditional worship style. Our services are peaceful and focused; instead of a band or smoke machines, the congregation sings together, accompanied by a violinist. Each week, we observe the Lord’s Supper. Our sincerity is central, as we strive to worship and enjoy Jesus authentically from the heart.
